These shoes are actually called "Jenna" boots (by Frye). These are the kind of boots I imagine I'll get to have for the rest of my life, and they're the shoes I've chosen to wear when I've done the things that make me feel the most vulnerable and challenged, like taking the stage to give a talk or participate in a panel, and they're also the boots I wore when I learned to ride a motorcycle.
Making sure to wear these boots for those important events wasn't an intentional decision, but looking back at these experiences, and realizing that standing tall in these tough boots is a unifier for a lot of my young adult milestones is a happy discovery.
